I built my teaching portfolio through the Teaching Engagement Program's Advanced Graduate Teaching Initiative at the University of Oregon. My portfolio has four sections:
1. Personalized Statements
2. Instructor of Record
In the summer 2018 term, I developed and taught Strategic Writing and Public Relations (J325). This course was an eight week intensive where students wrote and rewrote communications collateral culminating in a final media kit.
3. Lab Instructor
In the summer 2017 and Fall 2018 terms, I served as a lab instructor to Gateway to Media (J211). In Gateway, students seeking entry into School of Journalism and Communication degree tracks conceive of and complete multimedia narrative projects like photo essays, newsworthy articles, and radio programming, and video profiles.
4. Original Course Design
I developed an original 300- to 400-level course for strategic commutation, advertising, and public relations students. This course -- Strategic Project Management for Creative Professionals -- builds project management skills to collaboratively manage small to medium creative work and prepare students for entry-level positions at agencies and firms.
